Nat Holman: Holman played for the City College of New York in the 1910s. He later joined the Original Celtics, which was then already a professional team. He was known for his ball-handling skills and was instrumental in the popularization of the “modern” style of basketball.

John Wooden: Wooden played for Purdue University in the 1930s and later became a coach at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
