Infohoops Verdict
In my testing experience, the Nike Precision 6 is one of the best high-top shoes for wide feet. It offers an excellent grip, stability, and supportive traction and is light on the pocket. They work well on the inner courts. One thing that they need is maximum cushion support. Overall, at this price, they are worth it.
Other Experts Say?
If you don’t care about the cushion, and want a lightweight shoe, then this is for you. Overall, it’s a nice shoe, two things I’d like to change about it are the traction and cushion.
Precision Six is a lightweight shoe that does have good traction, but with cheap materials, and no technology.
As per the the price factor, Precision Six is a good shoe to go for. I haven’t tried its traction performance outside, but I’m sure, it’s gonna do well. The cushion steup is good and is lightweight. The material, the support, and everything else is all good.
The Nike Precision 6 is a decent budget model from Nike that lighter guard-style players will enjoy.
Pros
- Tremendous grip
- Supportive traction
- Budget-friendly
- Well-ventilated
- Prevents feet from injury
Cons
- Minimal cushion support
Detailed Nike Precision 6 Review
The Nike 6 Precision is an updated version of Nike Precision 5 and is an excellent value for money. Nike has improved the shoe’s design more than its predecessor, and the shoe fits true to size, making them comfortable out-of-the-box shoes.
The upper material of the shoe consists of mesh and synthetic TPU. The mesh caters to the boots’ breathability, whereas the TPU layers offer protection, and the more complex mesh on the heel provides stability and containment. On the other hand, Nike 5 had leather upper material, blocking the airflow.
The Precision 6 has a full-length Zoom Air unit on the forefoot for cushioning, whereas the Precision 5 has minimal cushioning on the heel. However, the cushioning doesn’t feel soft on the feet, is stiff, and needs improvement.
Compared with Precision 5, the 6 one delivers good support and lockdown with an adequately positioned lace system for a secure fit. The shoes offer smooth indoor traction as its outer sole contains a herringbone-like pattern, while the Precision 5 has a traditional herringbone pattern with a lesser grip.
The shoe’s sole is lightweight and has EVA foam integrated into the midsole, resulting in minimal energy return and shock absorption.
Moreover, the sole unit’s design provides a smooth ride from heel to toe and extra stability in the shoe’s midsection due to its elongated shape.
To sum up, the Nike 6 Precision is an all-around shoe good for those who want excellent quality shoes on a minimal budget.
What’s Exciting About Nike Precision 6?
The most exciting thing about Nike Precision 6 is the improvement in its design. Nike has taken a good step by updating the design of their new boots. The overall look of the shoes, along with the color scheme, is fantastic.
The shoe’s upper is made of woven textile material, making the shoes breathable. In short, the ventilation of the shoes is incredible. The shoe remains cool no matter how much you play.
The midsole is nice, and the traction is excellent. You can play both on the inner and outer surfaces. Also, they are easy to clean, and you can wipe the dust off the shoes with your hand or keep a wipe to do the deed.
Overall, everything about the shoe is exciting except the cushioning.
Colorway
The design and style of the Nike Precision 6 is eye-catchy. It can turn the heads on and off the courts. Nike has done a great job by upgrading the design of this shoe and taking it to the next level.
You will find a flexible and attractive upper, a suitable outsole, nice loops, and laces, cushioning, and a combo of herringbone plus nub pattern traction. In addition, it boasts a Nike logo on both of its sides.
It won’t be wrong to say that the shoe is designed with performance and aesthetics in mind, making it the best choice among basketball players.
Moreover, its color scheme is one of the best streaking features of the Precision 6. It comes in Phantom, Team Red, Light Crimson, and Metallic Gold colors.
Each shoe has a bright and attractive contrast of colors. Nike Precision 6 is a fantastic shoe with many features and a classy look.
If you want shoes with striking colors, sleek designs, and good functionality, think of nothing besides the Nike Precision 6.

Traction
The traction of Nike Precision 6 isn’t the top tier one, but you call it a good one. Its traction boasts a herringbone pattern on one side and a nubs pattern on the other.
While running in these shoes, I found them comfortable yet squeaky on the inner courts. They produce a sound while you hit the floor and suddenly stop.
However, the squeakiness of the shoe shouldn’t be of much concern as it doesn’t bother at all. As far as cleaning the traction, it’s super easy to clean. Since the shoe’s traction isn’t a dust magnet, only one wipe would be needed to clean the traction.
If you’re someone who finds the cleaning part arduous, then this shoe isn’t for you. In addition, playing with Preciosn 6 on the inner court delivers a smooth experience, and on the outer courts, it’s good as well.

Heel-to-toe Transition
The heel-to-toe transition is very smooth, and it’s like a rocking chair. As you run, the shoe rocks like a chair do.
Also, the forefoot has a lot of forefoot flex that makes it super flexible. As a result, it isn’t so soft on the midfield and may feel slightly stiff.
Furthermore, the torsion support is also good, but the heel only compresses a little, which I didn’t like. But, overall, I’m satisfied with its heel-to-toe transition.
Main Facts
- Flexibility: Amazing
- Outer sole: Rocky and smooth
- Torsion support: Excellent
- Heel Compression: Not too bad

Cushion
The first thing most players notice about the shoe is its cushioning setup. That’s because they have to run, jump and perform other movements.
Under such circumstances, a shoe should be comfy enough to support the feet of the wearer. Unfortunately, according to my testing experience, I didn’t find the cushioning as comfortable as advertised.
Nike says they have used a full-length Zoom Air Unit for maximum cushioning, which is alright. However, while playing basketball in these shoes, I felt the cushioning to be stiff rather than soft.
If you can function well in shoes with stiffer cushioning, then you can give Precision 6 a try. Also, these shoes can be good for beginners and unsuitable for professional players.
Main Facts
- Comfort: Not good
- Softness: Not so good
- Material: Cheap
- Expert Reviews: Fair reviews from experts
What Other Experts Say?
The cushioning isn’t great, it sucks, and it doesn’t feel smooth or soft on the Heel. But, of course, it’s stiffer at this price.

Material Support
Nike did well with Precision 6 using good quality material. They have used woven textile material for the upper, and it feels super cool.
The quality doesn’t feel and seem cheap at all; the flexibility is top-tier, and the woven material of the upper makes The shoe well-ventilated.
When I wore them and played crazily, my feet didn’t get sweaty, so I’m amazed at the quality of the upper material. On the contrary, the shoe material other than the upper feels cheap.
You can take an example of its extended tongue, which folds in itself after every moment you make, and then you have to untie the laces to fix the language. It’s super annoying.
In addition, there’s minimal padding on the ankle support so it can get annoying too. Overall, the material of the shoe is fine, but that of the upper is of the finest quality ever.
Main Facts
- Upper material: Excellent
- Tongue: Fine
- Ankle Support: Good
- Forefoot Flexibility: Good
- Expert Reviews: Positive reviews from experts
What Other Experts Say?
The material is cheap, with no technology except for the upper, which makes the shoe well-ventilated.

Support/ Fit & Lockdown
One of the best things I love about Precision 6 is how lightweight they are. Also, due to their excellent support and lockdown system, they offer immense support, help with lateral movements, and prevent slippage.
I’m confused about their minimal foam for ankle support; despite the lesser foam integration, I didn’t fall while making various movements. Anyways, this thing about the shoes is weird but, at the same time, fantastic.
The lacing system is also the best. It keeps your feet in shape; the only problem lies with the annoying tongue that needs adjustment after every few minutes. If you’re looking for shoes with great support and lockdown, Nike Precision 6 is the right pair.

Indoor & Outdoor Durability
When I first glanced at the shoe’s traction pattern, I thought they wouldn’t be suitable for outdoor use. However, upon using them on the road, my opinion changed: they offer excellent outdoor durability.
On the inner courts, they are awesome. On the outer terrain, they are impressive. Even though the cushioning is terrible, the forefront of the shoe is so flexible and comfortable that you will feel your feet to be at comfort.
In addition, you won’t slip or slide while making movements in Precision 6. Lastly, they are easy to clean and are neat from other shoes. Overall, they offer maximum durability both indoors and outdoors.

Ventilation
I have given a specific name to Precision 6 and, i.e., the Cool Shoe. The shoe’s upper is made of well-woven material that keeps the shoe super cool and perfectly ventilated from the inside. Neither heat nor sweat can touch your feet.
You can create as many moves as you want in these shoes and make your basketball game amazing. In short, the boots are so comfy and well-ventilated that they can help you win a game. So, I’m happy with its ventilation; it’s fantastic.

Best For Budget-Conscious Basketball Players
Nike Precision 6 comes in handy and in the budget for only $75. In addition, they are super light in weight and weigh only 10.1 pounds. Also, they are lightweight; your feet won’t even feel like you’re wearing the shoes.
Secondly, the breathability they offer is top-tier. Moreover, the support and lockdown, grip, and everything other than the cushioning setup of the shoe are good.
The cushioning needs improvement as I didn’t like it. To wrap up, Nike Precision 6 is the best shoe for budget-conscious basketball players.
